It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 7th Southern Zonal Districts Conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), holding virtually and physically from Tuesday 6th - Friday 9th August, 2024. This year’s conference Chief Host is the elegant and amiable 57th President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) – Mrs. Comfort Olu Eyitayo, mni, FCA.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is Nigeria’s foremost professional accountancy body established by Act of Parliament No. 15 of 1965. The Institute established Zonal Districts comprising of District Societies in the respective zones for the effective coordination of the professional activities of Chartered Accountants in all parts of the country and beyond in order to continue enhancing the frontier of knowledge in the field of accounting and other related disciplines. The Institute’s continued drive for Excellence prompted the inception and subsequent sustenance of this Annual conference.

For the year 2023, the conference theme is “SECURITY CHALLENGES IN NIGERIA:Implication for Economic Growth and Integration”. There are also two captivating sub-themes slated for Day’s 1 & 2 of the conference. The Conference host and Chairman of Southern Zonal Districts – Mr. Idedem Utuk FCA together with his Executive and other planning Committee Members have attracted seasoned technocrats and captains of industries to anchor and moderate these taught provoking topics that will surely delight your experience. We have also concluded arrangements to host the conference on the best internet backbone that will ensure uninterrupted network services during the conference proceedings.

This year’s conference will be held both virtually and physically. Virtual participants are expected to pay ₦25,000 and 30,000 for members and non-members respectively which covers their certificate of attendance, softcopy of papers presented at the conference and they will also be entitled to 16 MCPE hours (for members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria), while members of the Institute attending the conference physically will pay ₦40,000 and non-members of the Institute attending physically will pay a flat rate of ₦45,000 which entitles them to certificate of attendance and softcopy of papers presented at the conference.
